🩺 What is Anaphylaxis?

Anaphylaxis is a serious allergic reaction that is usually rapid in onset and may cause death. Prompt recognition and treatment are critical — but more importantly, it can be prevented.

Spot the Signs of Anaphylaxis

Be aware of the signs — focus on problems related to:

➤ Airway

  • Persistent cough

  • Hoarse voice

  • Difficulty swallowing

  • Swollen tongue

➤ Breathing

  • Difficulty or noisy breathing

  • Wheeze or persistent cough

➤ Consciousness

  • Persistent dizziness

  • Pale or floppy

  • Suddenly very sleepy

  • Collapse or unconscious

⚕️ How to Treat
Anaphylaxis

Step 1: Lie flat with legs raised

(If breathing is difficult, allow to sit)

Step 2: Administer intramuscular epinephrine (adrenaline) immediately — if available

Use epinephrine (adrenaline) for injection — such as an auto-injector or pre-filled syringe: Have it available Know how to use it Know when to use it
