About Us
Who we are
The Allergy Society of Kenya (ASOK) was registered in 2007 under the Registrars of Societies, Kenya and officially launched on the 20th of November 2008 by a group of Kenyan medical practitioners from different fields of specialty in response to the realization that allergies were a growing concern. Under the leadership of the founding chair Prof. Isaac M. Macharia, the members came together to consolidate and advance the management of allergy patients in Kenya by engaging health care workers in educational forums and mentoring younger colleagues to train in the field of allergy. We are a growing society with a vision of improving allergy care in Kenya. Our current membership consists of specialists, general medical practitioners and nurses.

Fundamental Principles
The Allergy Society of Kenya (ASOK) is dedicated to advancing comprehensive allergy care in Kenya through education, research, and the establishment of locally relevant guidelines. ASOK emphasizes that allergies are multifaceted conditions requiring a variety of testing and treatment approaches, tailored to the needs of each patient. The society aims to bridge the knowledge gap within healthcare and the public, ensuring that allergy management is accurate, thorough, and aligned with global best practices while being suited to the Kenyan setting.
